Wanderers Minis Festival Welcomes Over 300 Young Players for a Day of Football, Fun, and Community Spirit

Date: 16 April 2025

Sunday’s Wanderers Minis Festival, proudly supported by the Lou Lou Race Foundation, brought the island’s football community together in an unforgettable celebration of sport, teamwork, and youth development.

Held at the home of Jersey Wanderers Football Club, the festival welcomed over 300 young players, 80+ coaches, and 9 teams across five age-group tournaments. Eight local clubs came together for a day packed with football, fun and community spirit.

The day wasn’t just about sport - it was about giving children the chance to build confidence, make friends, and feel part of something bigger. From the cheers on the sidelines to the buzz between matches, the event was a proud celebration of grassroots football at its best.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees and supporters, the festival also raised over £1,000 for JWFC, supporting the club’s ongoing work to provide inclusive, positive sporting experiences for young people across Jersey.

A spokesperson for the Lou Lou Race Foundation said:

“We were absolutely delighted to support the Wanderers Minis Festival again this year. Seeing so many children enjoying themselves and growing in confidence on the pitch is exactly why the foundation exists. This event creates lasting memories, and we’re proud to play a part in helping young people access the support, joy and connection that sport can bring.”

Organisers are already looking ahead to next year’s event, with even more in store for the local football community.
