Safeguarding
Protecting and promoting the safeguard and w
elfare of every one of our members is of the utmost priority of Jersey Wanderers Football Club. We want our players, coaches, volunteers, parents and spectators to enjoy the beautiful game in a safe and enjoyable environment, both on and off the pitch.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we take this seriously. This is how:
We only get the right people involved: all of our volunteers are CRC checked and attend regular safeguarding training
We create a safe environment: all of our players, parents and coaches sign codes of conduct at the start of each season, we educate our members on our expectations through our culture and values, and we always promote best practice from our peers within other local football clubs and the Jersey FA
We have clear reporting systems: within the club, we have two dedicated Welfare Officers who are the first people to contact with any concerns or queries around the safety or welfare of an individual. All of our policies and procedures are reviewed periodically and are available to view on our website and in our clubhouse.
